As everyone knows, the holidays can be a little
horribly stressful. Decorating, worrying about calorie intake and dreading the inevitable visit from family members that you may, or may not, want to see again. Here are a few of my tips to make the holidays a little better.
- Eggnog. Everything is better with a cup of eggnog, and nothing is better than a cup of spiked eggnog.
- Vitamin D. Winter depression is real and whether you know it or not, the shorter winter days could be affecting your health and your happiness, making those family members (and long, holiday shopping lines) a bit more unbearable than usual.
- Friends (Christmas episodes). I bet you thought I was going to say spending time with friends, but if you’re anything like me and a Netflix savage, binge-watching the Friends Christmas episodes (Thanksgiving, too) or just binge-watching the whole series throughout all of the holidays may brighten your spirits. Now add those three things together and you’ve got a party of 1.
- And lastly, music. Who cares if you’re listening to ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ by Mariah Carey, or blaring ‘Toxic’ by Britney Spears, music is good for the soul. Don’t feel guilty for not playing Christmas music because you started in September and wore yourself out before Thanksgiving.
